Tour Options
Tours depart at 9.45 and 10.30 from the wharf at Port Chalmers and 11.00 from in front of the i-site in town. Unless the ship arrives late in which case it is from when passengers depart the ship.
Garden and City - The Half day tour
1.The Octagon - the centre of Dunedin with St Pauls Cathedral and the art gallery.
2. Baldwin street - The world's steepest street.
3. A lookout point over the city (usually Signal hill, unless it is foggy in which case it may be Bracken view)
4. A guided walk through part of the upper gardens which includes the Aviaries with exotic and native birds, Australian Garden, The African Garden, The Mediterranean Garden and the Rhododendron Dell.
5. Through the University area and an optional stop at the University.
6. Free time at the Railway station/Settlers Museum/Chinese Garden
To Return to the ship at the end of the tour there is an option to go back at:
1.45pm or 3.10pm from the bus stop by countdown supermarket.
Please note The Cadbury factory is now closed there is now another chocolate factory in Dunedin that offers tours.
We are able to drop off for the 2.00pm tour for those of the Garden and city tour.
Price: $50 per person
Nature and City - The Full Day tour
The same as the half-day tour but adds:
St Clair esplanade, and return to the ship via the Mount Cargill road with at least one stop along the way at the Scott memorial lookout over the ship.
Estimated return time back at ship tour is 4.00 - 4.30pm.
Price: $80 per person

Itinerary for Full Day Dunedin Nature and City Tour
The tour is a minimum of a four hour tour which consists of three or more hours around Dunedin city area followed by an up to one hour tour of Orokonui Eco Sanctuary. The tour includes a commentary from the driver.
9.45am: Depart from the wharf at Port Chalmers.
10.05am: Stop near Octagon. Free walkaround for clients (55min)
10.00 - 11.00am Clients from booking in town may board the isite on Princess street.
11.00 Drive though the city. Stop at Baldwin Street, North East Valley. View of street. Option to walk up. 10-15 mins
For view over the city visit Signal Hill lookout. Approx 10 mins.
Upper Botanical Gardens 30 mins guided walk around includes aviaries. Toilets available.
Option to see the Railway Station, Early Settlers Museum and ex Chocolate Factory.
Lunch (own cost)
Drive through to South Dunedin, down King Edward Street and down Victoria road to St Clair and stop for look at beach area.
Go back into the city centre via Hillside road. Proceed down George Street to view main shopping area.
Drive up the Mt Cargill road and out of the city.
Past the Orokonui Ecosanctuary with optional access to the sanctuary at their current entry rates. (If access to the sanctuary is required and transport required later there may be an extra cost).

Return to ship. Option to get off in Port Chalmers town and walk back to ship from there if required.

One Airconditioned MAN 11 - 230 with 37 passenger seats.
One Airconditioned Mitsubishi bus with 49 passenger seats.

- There are substantial savings for passengers who make their own arrangements.
- In Dunedin there is a very low risk to making your own arrangements and a great deal of flexibility that can be gained.
